Canada is a nation in North America, east and north of the United States.
Canada has ten provinces (British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland) and three territories (Yukon, Northwest and Nunavut). It was once ruled by the British, and as such has a Westminister system of government. Stephen Harper of the Conservative Party has been Prime Minister since January 2006. Canada is a member of many international organizations, most importantly the UN and the G8.
